Davido graduated with a Second Class Upper not First Class

Nigerian Twitter went into a frenzy yesterday when news broke that Nigerian singer, Davido, was given a First Class degree by his school, Babcock University. The singer and father-of-one who had his convocation yesterday shocked a few fans, especially past students of Babcock University who claim getting a First Class degree from their Alma mater wasn’t an easy task. Some went on to claim the singer probably bought his certificate. 

Davido has however taken to social media to quickly address the viral rumor saying he didn’t finish with a first class. In his own words, “I did not graduate with FIRST CLASS .. But SECOND CLASS Yes!” According to Wepushnews, “Insiders at Babcock University have since revealed to that the singer graduated with a 2nd Class Upper (2:1).” Davido now has a Bachelors of Arts degree in Music and is now free to do whatever as getting a degree was initially his father’s wish.
